Ryde Public School

This is a public primary school that takes pride in being one of the oldest schools in the region. Established in the late 1860s, the school has undergone major developments over the years and is currently one of the largest schools in the City of Ryde. The school offers a wide range of programs to help the students excel in academics, sports, and music.

High Schools near Ryde

Ryde Secondary College

This is one of the two major high schools in Ryde. It is the oldest and largest secondary school in the suburb. The school enrols students starting from Year 7 to Year 12 and currently serves over 1000 students. Enrolment at the school is divided into three different categories; mainstream students, selective students, and special education. Ryde Secondary College is one of the few schools of its kind in the state of New South Wales.

Holy Cross College

This is a Catholic-run independent boy’s secondary school that dates back to the early 1980s. The school enrols students from Year 7 all the way to Year 12 and has a population of over 500 students. Apart from creatively incorporating Christian teachings into the School’s curriculum, Holy Cross College has also emerged as one of the leading institutions in the field of Information Communication Technology in New South Wales thanks to their state-of-the-art computer facilities.

Epping Boys High School, Fort Street High School, Marist College, and Australia Performing Arts Grammar School are some of the other notable secondary schools near the suburb of Ryde.


Ryde’s proximity to Sydney also means that the residents of this beautiful suburb have access to over half a dozen institutions of higher learning including the University of Sydney, Macquarie University, Australian Catholic University, and Western Sydney University just to mention a few.
